Privacy Policy
We collect the minimum needed to deliver your parcel, and we explain here what we collect, why, who we share it with, and how you control it.
Last updated: 13 September 2026
1. Who we are and the scope of this policy
This policy applies to the website baridus.com , its app, your account on it, and every service provided by Barid US, a shipping and package-forwarding company whose operations are based in Albany, Oregon, United States of America. When we say "we" we mean Barid US, and when we say "you" we mean the account holder or a visitor to the site.
By using the site or opening an account you agree to what is in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service — and we would rather you asked us about any clause first.
2. The data we collect
We collect specific kinds of data, and each kind has a clear reason:
- Account data: First and last name, email address, mobile number, country, and an encrypted password we never see. You are also issued a customer code in the format BRD-1xxxxx that is printed with the receiving center's address on your parcels.
- Shipping and delivery data: The recipient's name as it appears on their ID, their address, phone number and national address if they have one, and a description of the parcel's contents and its declared value — because the carrier and customs require them.
- Parcel data: Each parcel's number, the store that sent it, the tracking number, the weight and dimensions, and the Photos of contents we take on arrival so we can show them to you before shipping.
- Payment data: Payments are processed through Stripe, a specialist payment gateway (Visa, Mastercard, mada and Apple Pay). We do not store your card number on our servers; we keep only the transaction reference, the amount, and the last four digits if the provider returns them.
- Order It for Me data: The links to the products you ask us to buy, their specifications, and the amounts paid.
- Contact data: Your messages by email, WhatsApp or the contact form, and your review if you write one about the service.
- Browsing data: IP address, device and browser type, the pages you visit and the time of the visit — for security and statistics only.
3. Why we use it
- To receive your parcels under your code, notify you when they arrive, photograph them, consolidate them, ship them and track them.
- To prepare the shipping label and the customs clearance documents from the details you entered.
- To carry out Order It for Me requests, Instant Shipping Labels, and optional insurance.
- To send the essential service notifications: sign-up confirmation and verification code, parcel arrival, invoice, shipment dispatched, tracking number.
- To send offers and news to those who signed up with us, with an unsubscribe link in every message (see clause 11).
- To protect your account from fraud and unauthorized access, and to comply with customs requirements and US law.
- To improve the site and the service using aggregated statistics that do not identify you.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell your data and we do not rent it to anyone. We share it only with those needed to carry out the service:
- Carriers (FedEx, DHL and those we contract with): the recipient's name, address and phone, and a description of the contents and their value.
- Customs and government authorities in the destination country and in the United States when they request it under the law.
- US stores when carrying out an Order It for Me request: the receiving center's address and your code only, never your personal data.
- Payment providers (Stripe): what is needed to complete the transaction and to prevent fraud.
- Technology providers who run the site: hosting (Hostinger), delivery and protection network (Cloudflare), email, analytics (Jetpack and Burst), and site security (Wordfence). Each of them is bound to protect the data and not to use it for their own purposes.
- WhatsApp Business when you message us through it, under WhatsApp's privacy policy.
- Any party the law requires us to disclose to, or to protect our rights and our customers' rights in cases of fraud.
5. Cookies and analytics
We use cookies that are necessary for signing in and for keeping your session and the site language you chose, plus aggregated analytics cookies to see which pages are visited most. We do not use advertising cookies to track you outside our site.
You can block cookies from your browser settings; the site's pages will still work, but signing in and the calculator may need them.
6. How long we keep your data
- Account data: For as long as your account is open, then deleted or anonymized within 90 days of a closure request.
- Shipment records, invoices and customs documents: up to 5 years, because US customs and accounting law requires us to keep them.
- Photos of parcel contents: 12 months from the shipping date, then deleted automatically.
- Correspondence: 24 months, so any claim can be followed up.
7. Your rights
At any time you have the right to:
- See your data and request a copy of it.
- Correct any inaccurate detail, from your account directly or by messaging us.
- Delete your account and your data, except what the law requires us to keep (clause 6).
- Unsubscribe from marketing messages with one click, without affecting your shipment notifications.
- Object to a particular use of your data.
Send your request to info@baridus.com from the email registered on your account, and we reply within 30 days at the most.
8. How we protect your data
- The connection to the site is fully encrypted (HTTPS/TLS).
- The account is activated with a verification code sent to your email, and passwords are stored with one-way encryption.
- A firewall, monitoring of sign-in attempts, and regular backups.
- Access to customer data is limited to those who need it to run the receiving center and customer service.
- If any breach affects your data we notify you and notify the competent authorities as the law requires.
9. Minors
Our services are for those aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger, and if we learn of a minor's account we close it and delete its data.
10. International data transfers
Our servers and our receiving center are in the United States, and some of our providers operate in other countries. By using the service you agree to your data being processed in the United States under this policy, with our commitment to protect it to the same standard wherever it is processed.
11. Marketing messages and notifications
Service notifications (parcel arrived, invoice, shipped) are essential to running your account and cannot be switched off while the account is open.
Offers and news are sent to those who opened an account with us, and you can unsubscribe with one click from the link at the bottom of any message, or by messaging us.
Browser or app notifications are optional, are enabled with your permission, and are turned off from your device settings.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our services or the law change. We publish the new version here with the update date, and if the change is material we tell you by email before it takes effect.
